Are you also confused like the guy in the image while selecting your niche?😜

Selecting a niche is like marriage.

If you pick the right one, your online journey is going to be smooth and building your community will be simple.

But if you end up choosing the wrong niche, you can’t imagine the consequences.

This one thought will make it hard for a new blogger.

I have joined an internship program where our current week task is to choose our profitable niche.

I had thought I could complete the task in one day. But it kept me in confusion for the whole week.

The situation was like I can finalise something to know it’s not the right one at the moment.

But finally, I was able to find my niche. It is helping individuals and start-ups achieve their objectives with authentic content marketing.

I have gone through plenty of resources online to find my niche.

The best thing is, it is in inclination with my main niche. (I will announce it in the future)

I have already mentioned how to pick the right niche in my previous article.

Right niche = Passion + Talent + Market

It is not the same for everyone. And our varied interests make it difficult to pick one.

But if you follow the below steps, you can easily find your niche, and some steps are non-negotiable.

1. SWOT Analysis

Identify your strengths, weakness, opportunities, threats

My strength is content writing, logical thinking and a unique take on different things

My weaknesses: I forget things, and I have committed many mistakes.

So, I can blog on what I did to overcome them and the lessons I learnt from my mistakes.

Opportunity: Many brands or new startups struggle a lot to project themselves in the online space. So I can help them convey their message to their customers as they want using my content writing skills.

Threat: Customers may feel bad if you create urgency or incite fear of loss. I am overcoming this with authentic content marketing, where the focus will be on providing value and leaving the decision to them.

2. Identify your passion

You must be having multiple passions, but most of them would be just interests. So, list down all of your interests and tell all of them to one of your close friends. And your friend should ask you why that interests you. If you can’t give reasons after the 3rd question, then it is not your passion.

In this way, you can figure out your passion.

Even if you are left with 3–5 options here, you can pick one from them by asking the below questions.

1. What problems can you solve? — For me, I can increase their revenue.

2. Which blogs do you read most of the time? — I consume business-related content more.

3. What people are writing in that niche? — We can find by the competitor research and have to observe what they are writing.

4. How can you make that content better? — Everyone has their unique angle. So you have to figure out how you can improve your content. It helps to get started. But it is always recommended to focus on what your audience needs and plan your content accordingly.

5. Can you write 50 articles without expectation? — Because blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. If you are passionate, you can write more on it though you are not getting any result.

Sometimes, you will be good at more than one thing, and all of them pass the criteria.

At that time, you need to focus on a new niche that evolves through niche stacking. (Combining two or more niches)

It will give you a competitive advantage.

Always focus on narrowing down your niche to sub-niche. It will help you in positioning yourself better.

To keep things very simple, I focused on the very basic things without going into technical aspects.

After following all these steps, I found my niche. I hope you find this article help you.
