TBH, I am not a good content writer, but I am on the way to becoming one.

But I am blessed to know few things about it and blessed to find people who guide me selflessly on improving my writing skills.

What is content writing?

It is the process of delivering your knowledge or experiences through planning, writing and editing content, typically for digital channels. It includes blogs, articles, scripts for videos, podcasts, research papers, white papers are some to name a few. Content writing is different from content marketing.

Certain things remain evergreen. The same goes for content as well, and it will always be the king.

The Framework for Writing

• What will you do when there is a wedding in your family? Yes, you will list out the names of everyone you know.
• You have to do the same for content writing as well. — Brainstorm all the ideas and pick one.
• Write down topics under the chosen niche and select the most relevant ones.
• Work out in a box, and don’t leave out of it. Are you wondering what it is? Stay till the end, where I will introduce a masterpiece.
• Discuss the rough draft with your friend or a colleague.
• Review it and rest, as your mind will be super active when you do all this stuff, and you may overdeliver than required.

Writing Short and Impactful Sentences

What makes you stay till the end of any content you consume?

Yes, impactful beginnings as well as suspense elements.

But how to do it?

It is by covering all general questions that people get 5Ws and 1H.

• Who
• Where
• When
• What
• Why
• How

Let me give you an example.

In the olden days, how do people introduce prominent figures like kings?

By their edification. A person speaks about their achievements that cover their identity, which revolve around these questions. Aren’t you able to relate? Then go and watch mythological movies or old movies involving kings.

When you do this, your introduction creates an impact. Then you need to provide supporting information with a clear call to action or action steps before you conclude.

How to touch the pulse of the readers with your words

People always love to interact with humans but not machines. Do you know why? Because we are emotional beings.

So, your writing should entice their emotions. How do you do that?

I want to share one recent incident with one of my good friends. I know she is a fighter and bounced back to places people dream of.

For brevity, I would like to present it conversationally.

Me: I wanted to ask you how you bounced back when you hit rock bottom.

She:

• People say, when you hit rock bottom, the only way is up.
• But no one tells you how hard it is
• When you climb up, you fall, scrape your knee, hurt yourself over and over again and make it to the top.
• But I’ll tell you something about rock bottom.
• Rock bottom is rock solid.
• What you build on it will have a solid foundation.
• Build a house, and it will not fall.
• Build your career you will not lose.
• Build faith in people, and they will remain.
• Cuz you do all these things while climbing up… learning and observing and soaking it all in

What did you get from this? Yes, it is something very few tell that revolved around how a person feels.

The majority won’t believe what I say because of the feeling that he might have made up the story. Moreover, they are not ready to accept certain things and the probability of their possibility in reality due to their fixed mind.

Simple Funda to Deliver Quality Content Over Long Periods

As it is a simple funda, I share it in a simple one sentence. Read as much as you write. Consume info as much as your share. It is valid even if you apply physics. “The law of conservation of energy.” It is the topic for another post. For you to be able to deliver quality content, you should never stop consuming the content. Otherwise, you will exhaust what you already know and the quality drops.
