Are You Honest With Either Yourself Or the World?

Are you feeling this is a too bold question? — Sometimes, we can’t help it.🤷🏻‍♂️

Have you ever asked yourself this question?

Or has anyone asked you this question?

I am glad that one of my friends said, “you won’t be honest to either yourself or me,” in a survey which I am taking to launch awesome.

I am glad to have him as a friend. The reason is only a person who has reached a pinnacle level of maturity will be so bold enough to be so brutally honest.

On seeing his question, I felt like this is the best topic for my article today.

Let’s get back to our question.

What would be your answer?

Stop.

No. You don’t need to answer anyone or give a justification.

The reason is you feel someone is honest to you when there is mutual trust.

If someone has this feeling in their mind, they definitely won’t listen to any explanation.

Honesty is a quality. So you can only feel but can’t understand by the words.

There is a very famous statemate I use with my close friends.

“Never explain yourself because I don’t need it. Those who trust you don’t need your explanation, and those who don’t trust you will not listen to your words. So, in both cases, your explanation will go to waste.”

Okay, let’s reconsider what happens if you are not honest with yourself.

  1. You have to do the job you hate. — I am always following my intuition, and I believe there’s a reason behind anything.
  2. You may have to work with the people you hate. — I always made decisions out of choice but not due to options.
  3. You may not have the freedom not to work when you feel like it. — But I always work when I feel like when I want and where I want unless compelled by the situations and melodrama at home.
  4. You may need to compromise what is rightful to you. — But I fought with the management where I worked to get the salary I should be paid.
  1. I am not honest. — I avoided facing situations where I fail to keep up with my commitment instead of confronting.
  2. I am not honest. — Due to the same problem, I stopped working in an agency with beautiful souls, though I was given many benefits out of their principles, and hurt the Chief Happiness Officer of the agency Sourav Ghosh. You can understand his pain by going to this article. But I can’t face him for what I did.
  3. I am not honest. — I haven’t learned the lesson. So I had to repeat the same mistake and stop working in a startup with similar souls. And the situation is the same.
  4. I am not honest. — So I had followed the principle of fake it until you get it.

But with time, I understood there is nothing to lose. So I became brave enough to confront what I did.

Yes, been in the low phase for enough time to understand there is nothing to lose but glory when I stick with the path of my dreams where everyone looks for easy options.

Because of one reason, those who persist when everyone is giving up is going to succeed.

But I understood the following thing.

  1. If you are honest with yourself, you accept things as they are and will be peaceful. — Yes, I am at peace despite the chaos that is surrounding me.
  2. If you are honest with yourself, you’ll see be less judgemental and see the world as it is. — We all see the world through our lens. But I am at the place where I started not to consider what the world is saying. Yes, even if you say I am stupid, I will not think about it.
  3. If you are honest with yourself, you’ll live in the moment. — Yes, I am no longer living in the past. But sometimes, the past haunts me. Yes, we are humans, and we are not perfect.
  4. If you are honest with yourself, you will not compromise on your dreams. — Yes, I am a dreamer chasing my dreams despite many reasons to give up.

The reason is I got nothing to lose ad life is at my back, showing me a lot of ways to go. All I need is to take action towards that one step at a time.

This article is the outcome of one of my friends sharing his thought that I won’t be honest with either myself or him (world) in my survey form.

It is due to not knowing that I am a person transitioning towards being honest from dishonest (at times due to situations).

I will be glad if you participate in the same survey where you also can ask me to write on any topic of your choice from my personal experience.

If you stayed till the end, and if you feel this is not fictitious, I would love to see your thoughts on this article.
