Who doesn’t want to automate their job, business, or side hustle?

But have you ever thought about how much is too much?

If you haven’t till now, it is the right time to think about it.

If you understand this simple thing, you can even build an organisation of strength thousands and lakhs of people. And the catch is, the process is simple.

Why I am Writing This Post

Yesterday I had a chat with one of my good friends. It is about one of the programs he enrolled on. And what he described the program and my latest experience made me think about the dark side of automation.

We all know that there is no such thing as a perfect thing. And now is the time where many startups are emerging. The catch is, startups work on limited human resources and the responsibilities are more.

Let’s reiterate the benefits of automation.

Benefits of Automation | Why Do We Automate The Processes

Recently I saw one of my friends saying, “I love doing business, but later I realised that I am working in the business, not on it.”

It is the situation with the majority. Many people dream of starting their own business. — As they can have more time and enjoy life to the max. However, 80% of the people are working in their project instead of on it. As a result, they are not having any time left to relax.

The more tasks you have to handle, your efficiency will be less and the more chances of undesired events.

Benefits of automation

  1. You can have control over what is happening.
  2. You can scale your efforts.
  3. You can complete more in less time. — More time to focus on what is important to you.
  4. You can handle multiple projects at once.

Have you ever thought of the downsides? Yes, we have to talk about the downside of anything, especially in business. Let’s do it in the next section.

Downsides of Automation

If you scale your automation efforts on a large scale, it might give rise to some drawbacks. — If you commit some mistakes. I don’t mean it is the case everywhere, but there are chances.

Downsides of Automation — Chances are there

  1. You will have systems set for everything. But you won’t be aware of what’s happening in your organisation.
  2. If you miss setting up the proper monitoring system, there is a scope of some errors. — This will hamper the brand value of your organisation.
  3. If you are a digital content creator, the chances of using outdated content are there. — You know the effects of outdated information. I don’t have to stress much about this.

Solution? — Micro-Management

I have seen people who are handlings the systems of even lakhs of people and scaling their businesses. And we are following an education system in our business which taught us to implement the same in building our business.

It is nothing but micro-management. One person scaled his business to even nearly 50Lakhs in a year two months.

And here, we are following the principle of delegating the tasks, and we divide every team into micro teams with 4-5 persons. It helped us to understand what is happening in our business. One more addon is by setting up a feedback mechanism as well.

Crux

If you take care of small things well, big things take care of themselves automatically. And micro-management does the same.

What are your thoughts? Have you ever experienced any issues due to automation?
