Somewhere your heart yearns to get freedom. And it tells you why don’t you start something on your own. But your mind tells it to keep quiet. — Many people failed whoever started something on their own.
Your heart is strong, and it takes control over your brain. Then comes your gut, and it joins the heart, and you feel something in your gut. Yes, it is the gut feeling. And you take the path less taken. Here starts the journey of an entrepreneur on taking the road less travelled.
The journey of an Entrepreneur in the Road Less Travelled
We all know that when you do something that nobody does, you can enjoy what they won’t. So very few people, based on their gut feeling, take the road less travelled. However, every time you diverge, there are two paths and one of them will be the one less travelled. It is like a filter in every path. And the one who passes through all the filters and takes the less travelled path every time succeed.
Yes, success comes to you only when you pay the price. And it depends on how big the reward is. And once you take the road less travelled, the more travelled is nothing but quitting. The majority quit. So there are many failure stories. We can’t blame anyone because it is not a blame game. Moreover, situations are the reason why someone does anything.
Have you ever noticed a similar pattern in the education system? Let me tell you my experience.
My journey in the Education System
I remember people telling me that I was a bright student. I paid close attention and realised certain things which are close to what we have discussed in the previous section and what I did exactly. Even the students who score 90% or more are very few.
Have you ever thought about what took them to be there? Don’t you think they ever get stuck somewhere? It’s a fact that everyone is stuck sometimes somewhere.
What comes to the rescue when someone is stuck?
- Textbook
- Reference Books
- Teachers
- Friends
- Seniors
It means there is one or another go-to person or resource whenever you are stuck. It helps you to stand out and succeed. However, is there any such thing when you want to become an entrepreneur?
Do you have any go-to person to get unstuck? Is any MBA program teaching you that? It is a clear cut no. Even if you take entrepreneurship in any MBA program, employees who don’t have ground skills teach you the required stuff to start your company.
One Major Aspect For the Success of Anything
One thing is the reason for the success ratio in the education system or any other conventional profession. The lack of it is the same reason why many entrepreneurs are failing. It is none other than the community.
- Do you want to become an engineer — There is a community of engineers.
- Do you want to become a doctor — There is a community of doctors.
- Do you want to become an IAS officer — There is a community of IAS officers.
Pick any profession, there is a community. However, only entrepreneurship doesn’t have a community. So people say it is a lone journey in the beginning. There won’t be any go-to person or resource whenever you are stuck with something. That is the reason the majority of the entrepreneurs are failing.
Crux
When you have a community, you have some or another person to get your concerns solved. So, if you have a community of people to support you on your entrepreneurship journey, you are lucky. So, people who are maintaining or building their communities are achieving more success compared to the rest. Also, their tribe is getting amazing results as they always have one or another person to help them when stuck.
